Birth of Callback/Kallback
Corporate Backgrounder
Kallback is the original call re-origination service
Kallback is the original call re-origination service, providing a worldwide
clientele of international businesses and individuals with low-cost
international and domestic telephone, fax, and data-transmission services.
Introduced in January 1993 by parent company International Telcom Ltd. (ITL),
Kallback has since become the leading international discount telephone service,
spawning a swarm of imitators striving to equal its high-quality services and
low international rates.
Disturbed that telephone charges in his London hotel room added up to more
than the room itself, ITL founder and CEO Joel Eisenberg realized that hordes of
business travelers like himself must be frustrated by exorbitant and virtually
inescapable international telephone rates. In response, the wily Mr. Eisenberg
and his team of software developers engineered the necessary programs to allow a
computer to re-originate foreign calls from the U.S. Thus, Kallback and an
entire industry were born.
Kallback uses the fiber-optic networks of AT&T and other major
international carriers through the established ITL network of
strategically-placed digital switches to ensure clarity and reliability
worldwide. In only four years, the company has grown to serve more than 90,000
customers in 225 countries and continues to grow at nearly 10% a month.
Kallback attracts customers by offering low international rates and retains
them by providing a level of customer service that few companies endeavor to
achieve. Kallback staffs a 24-hour customer service department with agents
fluent in more than eight languages. The company has received praise from media
around the world, including the BBC, CNN, The International Herard Tribune,
The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Wall Street
Journal, and The Economist.
The Kallback procedure is simple. Each user receives a personal trigger
number. The user dials the number, lets it ring once, and hangs up. Within
seconds, the Kallback computer returns the call, providing a U.S. phone line.
Calls are then dialed normally to anywhere in the world. Corporations and
high-volume international callers are able to automate the callback procedure
with a KallNet System, allowing the benefits of low Kallback rates and quality
services without inconvenient dialing procedures.
Kallback service allows callers to avoid the costly surcharges attached to international calls
The savings are significant. Not only does Kallback offer refuge from the
rates of most local networks, but the service allows callers to avoid the costly
surcharges attached to international calls by most hotels, payphones, and
calling card services.
Kallback offers a wide range of customized telephone and data-transmission
services with a variety of options including multi-user systems and PBX
adaptations (KallNet), calling centers (Kall Kiosk), debit cards, specialized
services for computer and fax users, voice-mail features, private lines,
fully-detailed itemized billing statements, and additional features that would
be otherwise unavailable in many parts of the world.
